We are on a mission to release thousands of families in the Crawley community from grinding poverty and financial pressures through free debt counselling, money coaching, job clubs and other services. Through working with local churches, we’re bringing hope to many families in our community every year.

“We write as people who sought very urgent assistance with Christians Against Poverty to assist with a debt situation and we can say that your assistance has been transformative both in its outcome but also by the warmth and professional way that this help was delivered.”

Our story

In 2015 several churches in Crawley responded to the increase in poverty and debt within our community by setting up the Crawley CAP Centre in partnership with the national Christians Against Poverty charity. Over the last 10 years the Centre has seen hundreds of lives transformed through its work. In total, we have helped our clients find ways to tackle around £1 million of debt.

In 2022 the Crawley CAP Centre registered as an independent charity while retaining very strong links with churches across the town.

“CAP are unsurpassed when it comes to the debt help they give people across the country. There’s nothing better to start you on the path to having more money in your pocket.”

— Martin Lewis, money saving expert

How do we work?

We work with staff in the local Job Centre, Probation Service and foodbanks who refer many of our clients to us.

We make it clear to all our potential clients that, although our Christian faith drives our desire to help people manage their finances well, we are committed to our service being available to all individuals, irrespective of their faith or lack of faith.
